DLA Membership Drive

Lewiston, Maine — The Downtown Lewiston Association (DLA), established in 2018 as a nonprofit organization dedicated to revitalizing Lewiston’s downtown business district, is excited to announce its renewed focus and upcoming initiatives. After a period of slower activity, the organization is undergoing a revival through new leadership, a membership drive, securing financial support, and planning activities to achieve its core objectives. We are seeking new, and renewed, members.

Membership is open to all downtown businesses, non-profits, building owners, and residents. As a member, you can help shape downtown’s future, promote your events and business on our website, and join discussions with City Officials to work together on our shared goals.

To learn more about the DLA or the benefits of becoming a member,, join us at our membership drive events at Blue Jay Cafe, 189 Main Street, Lewiston. Member drives are  Monday, 4/21 at 6 p.m. featuring snacks from Mancini’s Italian Deli;  and  Monday 4/28 at 9 a.m. featuring small bites from Blue Jay Cafe.

The DLA’s mission centers around four primary goals:

• Attracting residents and visitors to spend their time and money in downtown businesses, organizations, and events.
• Increasing foot traffic by creating a vibrant, diverse, and inclusive downtown that supports local businesses, artists, and other stakeholders.
• Attracting investment in downtown Lewiston.
• Collaborating with City and State officials and local organizations to advance these goals.

As part of this revitalization effort, the DLA will also be working on an application for Main Street America later this fall to align with nationally recognized strategies for downtown development.
