Funding for the agency’s lending, grant and technical assistance programs are secured through a mix of state and federal loan and grant programs and strategic partnerships. In addition to our direct loan programs, AVCOG also provides assistance to businesses in accessing other local and state sources of financing.

Through its Economic Development division, the LA Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce provides commercial loans up to $350,000 to businesses of all sizes and types. Created to facilitate private sector investment and job creation, our loan program can be used for business acquisition, site purchase & development, construction & rehabilitation, machinery & equipment, inventory, and working capital. Efficiency Maine is the independent administrator for energy efficiency programs in Maine. Efficiency Maine’s mission is to lower the cost and environmental impacts of energy in Maine by promoting cost-effective energy efficiency and alternative energy systems. Efficiency Maine does this primarily by delivering rebates on the purchase of high-efficiency lights and equipment to help customers save electricity, natural gas and heating fuels throughout the Maine economy. Efficiency Maine is governed by a stakeholder Board of Trustees with oversight from the Maine Public Utilities Commission.
