The Trek Across Maine is a 3-day, 180-mile cycling adventure from Brunswick Landing to Bates College to Colby College and back to Brunswick Landing. It is The American Lung Association’s largest fundraising event. More information about Trek Across Maine
In 2019 the Trek has changed it’s route for the first time in 35 years to include an overnight stop at Bates College in Lewiston. On Friday, June 19th between 10am and 2pm, approximately 1500 cyclists and approximately 200-500 volunteers will arrive at Bates College and stay overnight on the campus.
Trek organizers have facilitated shuttles to bring Trekkers and volunteers to Lewiston’s downtown business district where The Downtown Lewiston Association is hosting Trek Downtown – Street Takeover.
A full city block of Lisbon Street (Ash Street to Main Street), in the heart of downtown will be closed to vehicle traffic and we throw a huge welcome celebration for Trekkers and community members to eat, drink and be merry.
