Trek Downtown - Street Takeover

Trek Across Maine is an annual cycling event coordinated by the American Lung Association of Maine. Beginning in 2019, the route will begin at Bowdoin College, take participants to Bates College, then onto Colby College, and finish at Bowdoin College. Trek Downtown is a welcome celebration for cyclists and community members in Downtown.

Organizers coordinate with City staff, local restaurants, food trucks, and more to block off a section of lower Lisbon Street and throw a huge celebration and party. Event starts around 2pm and runs through 9pm

Sparkle Saturday

Sparkle Saturday is a yearly event that fills downtown Lisbon Street with bustling holiday activity and all ‘round joie de vivre for last minute shoppers in late December.

Organizers coordinate over 50 artisans to set up shop in more than 30 locations along Lisbon Street. It’s a small business shopping day featuring Jewelry, Specialty Gifts, Ayurvedic oils, Skin care products. Hand bags, Paintings, Photography, Pottery, Clothing, Note cards, Books, Stuffed animals, Yarn, Gift baskets, Shoes, Wine Tastings and more. Restaurants and are open and many offer Sparkle Saturday food and drink specials.
