cPort Credit Union to Host Personal Finance Workshop on Sept. 23
Lewiston branch manager to give free event on budgeting, building credit, and avoiding scams
LEWISTON, ME – September 15, 2026 – cPort Credit Union is hosting a workshop for the Downtown Lewiston community to help people build confidence in their personal financial management. Chris Mbalazamo, Lewiston Branch Manager, will lead the workshop and all are welcome to attend.
When: September 23, 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM
Where: 75 Park Street, Lewiston ME
What: A free workshop on personal finance, including information on budgeting, avoiding scams, building credit, and Q&A
“cPort is committed to helping our neighbors feel confident about how they manage their money,” says Mbalazamo. “This workshop will provide the basic stepping stones of financial management for our community.”
Mbalazamo joined cPort in June of 2020 after receiving an Associate of Business Administration degree from Southern Maine Community College and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Southern Maine.
The workshop is free and open to the public. In addition to English, Mbalazamo speaks Lingala and French and welcomes all who wish to attend.
