Fleetwood Mac tribute band to perform Oct. 12 at Franco Center
LEWISTON—Crystal Vision, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band, will perform at the Franco Center at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12. Mark McNeil, band member and publicist for Crystal Vision: Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band, said, “A few years ago after a rehearsal for [a musical production] … an idea blossomed among members of the production’s music pit to form a Fleetwood Mac tribute band. Of course, it was a great idea!” McNeil added, “Jane Clukey’s piano skills and smooth, mellow vocals are a perfect match for Christine McVie. Lisa Wheeler, who some say sounds more like Stevie Nicks than Stevie does, handles ‘Rhiannon’ and other Nicks favorites. Brendan Bracy provides searing lead guitar work, intricate finger picking, and vocals on Lindsey Buckingham’s songs. Dan Willertz’s drumming skills make him a perfect Mick Fleetwood.”
These band members noted that McNeil’s bass playing style and demeanor mesh beautifully with John McVie’s, while also adding harmony vocals and guitar. McNeil added, “Wanda McNeil fills out the lineup as one of Fleetwood Mac’s long-time back-up singers Sharon Celani, while also adding keyboard and percussion parts.”
A press release for the band states, “There are many Fleetwood Mac cover bands across the country and around the world, but Crystal Vision’s particular claim to fame is the resemblance of the three primary vocals to the originals. Wheeler as Stevie, Clukey as Christine, and Bracy as Lindsey all sound very much like their counterparts, and the blend of all the voices, with Mark and Wanda adding back-ups and harmonies, can be stunning!”
