Morning dance lessons at the Franco April 10
Franco Center 46 Cedar Street, LewistonThe Franco Center will host line dance lessons led by Jake Hodgkin, production and creative arts manager at the Center. Lessons are held most Wednesday mornings (and a few at night) unless the Franco Center is rented and unavailable. Classes are for all levels of dancing experience. $5 donation at the door. Morning dance lessons go from 10am to 11am. Upcoming morning dates include: April 17 and 24. No need to pre-register. Walk-ins welcome! The Franco Center is at 46 Cedar St. in Lewiston. Park in the mill lot on Oxford St. Come in through the Heritage Hall doors.
Franco American culture to be topic of program featuring David Vermette
Franco Center 46 Cedar Street, LewistonLEWISTON—The Franco Center will host author David Vermette, who writes about Franco American heritage and culture, at noon, Wednesday, April 10. This is a free presentation. His book “A Distinct Alien Race: The Untold Story of Franco-Americans: Industrialization, Immigration, Religious Strife.” It is suggested that attendees buy the featured books ahead of the book talk at Amazon or other online book stores. The Franco Center is at 46 Cedar St., Lewiston. Parking is available in the mill lot. The building is handicap accessible on the Lincoln St. Alley side.
