A community-based organization, the orchestra draws players and audiences from south of Portland to Rockland along the coast, and inland from Augusta to the Lewiston-Auburn area. Its members all volunteer their time to practice and perform with the Midcoast Symphony. The group has expanded in size and capability under the leadership of Rohan Smith, Conductor and Music Director since 2003-2004. Fiddle-icious Oct. 27
Franco Center 46 Cedar Street, Lewiston, ME, United StatesTap your toes, stomp your feet, and clap your hands as Fiddle-icious, a community fiddle-based orchestra with 100+ musicians from Kittery to Augusta, takes the stage to share their unique, uplifting music! Fiddle-icious is a fun–loving Maine orchestra playing fiddle, piano, harp, guitar, banjo, mandolin, flute, accordion, cello, tin whistle, concertina, upright bass, and bagpipes. Their tunes are passed down from the Irish, Scottish, Quebecois, and Acadian traditions and include reels, jigs, marches, hornpipes, waltzes, step-dancing, and beautiful singing harmonies. Don and Cindy Roy, recipients of a National Heritage Fellowship, are the driving forces behind the magic of Fiddle-icious. [...]
